since our studio was in Somerville at the time, we enjoyed a little local fame, and Adweek and Graphic Design magazine ran our press release and picture with the Mayor.

create logotype to announce celebration of the town's 250th anniversary. logotype to be used on all event stationary, signage, cakes etc.


after researching town records and cultural icons, we presented a handdrawn rendition of the historic Powder House, with the slogan "Growing with You". The logo was submitted in an open town competition and our submission was selected from 270 entries. Before use, though, the slogan was changed to "Beyond the Neck" as Somerville traditionally lay beyond the neck of Charlestown.
